World’s Notable Buildings with the Most Remarkable Domes

TAJ MAHAL

Taj Mahal’s white domed marble is its most familiar component. The Taj Mahal, a mausoleum is located in Agra, India, built by Muhal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Indian and Islamic architectural styles, especially those of Persia and Turkey. In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was cited as “the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage.” Building began around 1632 and was completed around 1653, and employed thousands of artisans and craftsmen.

  1. The Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful buidlings in the entire world. The third and final time I saw it, I will never forget. I may of only been 10 years old. But things like that never leave you and truly some memories are forever. I think that i'm lucky to be able to say that I saw, that I stood, that I had been there at the Taj Mahal. It is a most remarkable structure, truly a masterpiece indeed.
