Vijaya Dasami also known as Dussera/Navaratri/Durgotsav.is one of the important festivals in india.which is celebrated with pimp and gaity in the Lunar Month of Ashwini usually (SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER)from the suklapaksha pratipada to the dashami/the tenth day of th aswine.

HITORICAL:Many kings (ancient/medival)are started their expedition/attack on the other kingdoms to expand their kingdom during the dussera/vijaya dasami(that is victory).

the vibrant festivals last for 10 days of which Nine Nights are spent in worship,navratri the Tenth Day is devoted to the godess of durga who occupiesa special position in the hindu panthean of gods and godesses.she is sakti 'the cosmic evergy which animates all beings.

in india harvest season begins at this time and as mother earth is source of all food the mother godessis invoked to start fresh the new harvest season and to reactivate the vigour and fertility of all soil by edoing regious performence and rutulas which invoke cosmic force for the reorentation of the soil.

in bengal the festival is celebrated as Durga Puja.bengal is synonymous for durga puja in india.

In Tamil Nadu the festival incorporats worship of the godess Lakshmi,Saraswati and Shakti Gol or disply of dolls takes place during navaratri.

In kerala vijaya dasami is also the auspicious day for keralites for starting a formal education.

In Mysore the dasami-celbrations are popular with tourists,and are popular with conducted with Great POMP.turists from all over the world especially came to see the old world regality of the kings and the splendor and pagantry displayed by at the palce.

The most of Northeren India(Uttara Pradesh,Punjab,Delihi an d Haryana etc) and some parts of Maharashtra is celebrated more in honour of Ram.During these ten-days may plays dramas Based on Ramayana are performed.these are called 'RAMLILA'. Huge effigy of Rama,Laxman and Ravana erected in open groundsand on the TENTH-DAY Ravana is Burnt by an arrow shot by Rama,equipped with leathal weapon.riding a ferocious lion.the godess in all her awesome megesty,vanquished the evil one without much ado.

Dussera/dasami is the festival marking end of NAVRATRI and the immersion of DURGA IDOLS which are for NINE-DAYS prior t DUSSERA.

Basically all the legends of DUSSERA pointout the VICTORY of Good over Evil and the TRIUMPH of the GOOD is celebrated a s DASAMI.

A GREAT FRIEND-I LOST

A GREAT TRIBUTE TO MY FRIEND
i met a friend in 1996 name Sepuri Mahidhr by one of my close friend .He was a good-hearted,Healthy Minded and Good Person i noticed after couple of months of our friendship.
Who changed my life by his advices and guidance.for instance,when i went to his home at doctors colony to meet him ,at that time his father opened the door and asked me who are you man?what are you doing?i am tight-lipped because i knew English,i can understood but i could not speak that moment he came from room he answered.then he noticed my problem and immediately he advised me immediately you buy a OXFORD/WEBSTER Dictionary and Subscribe the HINDU news paper.or take my dictionary(in his room on table a Webster dictionary i saw )Second one :you should talk English only with me and rest of your friends,if you have any doubts you can write on a paper immediately(i learned this hobbit from my great friend(he always wrote a to-do list on proscription like pads)and he encouraged me to talk English i followed hi s instructions and advices strictly.and you know he was a Superb-English-speaker with high-command on vocabulary and phrases.when i met him i don't know what is phrases. You Know friends? i learnt good-driving tips from him first later from my other friends.
one incident i must share with you one day he came by auto why he came by auto I'm thinking?when i was in my room ,suddenly he came into the room with BPL Big Speakers music-system and kept in my room.from few months he asked me to take the system.but i could not because of the money.i don't need money whenever you have just pay the hotel bill that's it you take this system.still I'm using this system without remote but i added new Philips DVD but i will not change the SYSTEM and speakers.it is a great gift for me and my family.

After couple of years with dedication and reading i achived my victory over the English ie writing-skills and spoken English.you know few of my articles/views are published in THE HINDU news paper Metro Plus edition.and i wonRs.500 GIFT VOUCHER from white house,Hyderabad.this victory goes only to my friend S.MAHIDHAR. he missed my victory ,unfortunately he was died by accident on NOVEMBER 10,In 1997 at the out-gate of the Adhara University(opposite police commissioner bungalow).i lost a great-hearted friend.
i treated him as my elder brother.i have no elder brother because I'm the elder one in my family.my mother also treated him as a son and my two-brothers and my only sister also treated him as a elder brother.but we lost.whenever he came to my house first he met my nanny(mother of my father)he likes very much my nanny.he gave medicines to my nanny whenever she complained about the health problem.when she heard about the death of my friend she was silent and not ate food for two-days.I'm also.I'm very disappointed about the sudden death of my friend.
but he lives in my hearts forever,forever and forever !
You Are Forever in MY HEART MY FRIEND !
